+
+Retro terminal personal startpage for sillylaird.ca.
+
+## Usage
+- Open https://www.sillylaird.ca/startpage/
+- Use the engine picker to switch search (persisted).
+- Type in "Filter cards & links" to live-filter the grid.
+- Keyboard: `/` focuses filter; `?` shows help overlay; `Esc` clears.
+- Cards powered by `cards.txt` (edit via /admin.php?section=startpage or directly).
+- Last.fm now playing pulls from site API.
+

+## OpenBSD boot banner version
+The boot overlay shows `OpenBSD X.Y`. Source of truth:
+
+1. `openbsd_version.txt` — written by `../tools/update_openbsd_version.sh` (daily cron scrapes https://www.openbsd.org/)
+2. JS date formula fallback if the cache is missing (anchor 7.9 = May 2026)
+
+`index.php` injects `window.OPENBSD_RELEASE` from the cache file.

+- Persisted search engine choice.
+- CSS grid cards.
+- Subtle wallpaper texture.
